THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS DID WESTON DRESSLER, THE 5’8″ NORTH DAKOTA NEIGHBORHOOD BALLER WRONG. They did a player wrong. Easily one of the most lethal receivers in the CFL. Weston creates separation between dbs like Charlie Sheen did with most of his dates, wives, girlfriends. How could Andy miss this, who didn’t like him?
Drew Willy, dropped a 300 burger on “must see TV” Thursday night against the Toronto Argonauts in Winnipeg. Anyone who saw the game said the following, “fast defense” “ballin” “lit up Argos secondary” “damn, wow.” Drew just went 19 of 27 for exactly 308 yards, and 4TDs, while repping the University of Buffalo is in the house. The lone blemish was a single int.
Well at least we know he’s human. Get down Drew, now get off my lawn.
Why is Andrew Harris such a great story being told in real-time? Its classic, small-town boy travels west to the big city overshooting SFU, and UBC to play for coach Snoop and Hocking of the VI Raiders. He balls out, like nobodies business and heads to the CFL while moonlighting as a junior football kid. For Americans reading this its the equivalent to a kid playing for a JUCO and driving to San Diego to practice and get PT for the Chargers. Way too cool.
Adarius Bowman, is looking like the guy I remember from OSU who was giving dbs and defensive coordinators constant night sweats of winding up on his big play highlight reels. His NFL Scouting report.Smooth and fluid route runner with the loose hips and ability to sink his pads to change direction in an instant…Shows excellent open-field acceleration and knows how to vary his speed to set up the defender…Has the low center of gravity to get in and out of his cuts sharply and displays the balance and timing to extend for the ball..His flexibility and burst are evident in his quickness getting into his routes..Intelligent athlete with the valid instincts to gobble up the cushion of defensive backs. Solomon Elimimian is strictly full tilt, all the time. 49 tackles going into week 7 is crazy. The next closest baller is Adam Bighill who is sitting at 28 tackles and is on the other side of the Lions defense. If you really know football there is no doubt Solomon should be in the NFL, and playing in a TAMPA 2 somewhere as a weak side linebacker. He reminds me of Shelton Quarles, former teammate (lions 1995) and sickly athletic, who lined up next to Derrick Brooks a HOF 2014 in one of the greatest defenses ever.
I remember asking Shelton how much weight had he put on in Tampa his reply, “I have to keep it under 225lbs, we have to be quick and fast.” Solomon is quick and fast and wears #56. You wear it well Solomon.
John Bowman is what I like to call a classic DE. Everyone else in the league may be considered a tweener but not Bowman. He fits the description of a defensive end. He’s tall, thick, with long arms, and explosive. He also has a great mentor watching over him in coach Anwar Stewart. “Yes, Virgina there is a Boogie-man and his name is John Bowman.”
When Brayden Lenius’s mom asked me to help her son get a scholarship to the NCAA the best way was get Brayden then 16 years old noticed. Private school Chaminade HS in So.Cal was chosen for his senior year. At 6’6 220lbs this Brayden was the highest recruited wr out of Canada in years
with more potential then a top rated Kickstart project. In LA he got the coaching, and competition he needed to blossom, and BLEW UP. USC, and UCLA sideline passes led to big mail and trips, and visits. On National Letter of Intent day he signed live from the ROSEBOWL on FOXSPORTS,right along with the other TOP SHELF 4-5 STAR KIDS. He’s going to be wearing purple and bling gold NIKE, at U of W head coach with Chris Peterson. My work is done.
Ricky Ray, and Drew Willy are not posing for this Marianne Helm shot. Let’s play “let’s get deep.” Isn’t this photo foreshadowing? Did Marianne plan this juxtaposition of established vs up and coming, age vs youth, or body of work vs rising star? Either way both are dangerous with the rock in their hands, choose your poison.
